Borderer Jillian Lough has won one of Scottish Golf’s six order of merit titles for 2026.

The Eyemouth Golf Club member is this year’s senior women’s champion after accumulating 685 points at five events, 110 more than Stirling’s Alison Davidson mustered to finish as runner-up, with Fifer Elaine Moffat third on 390 from three competitions.

Lough was one of three Borderers to make that order of merit’s top 20, the others being Selkirk Golf Club’s Martine Pow, ninth on 180 points from a single event, and Hawick Golf Club’s Margaret Morrison, joint-18th on 75 points, also from one counting competition.

Following totting-up of points picked up at area and county competitions, national championships and international opens, the women’s title went to Abigail May – like Moffat, a member of St Regulus Ladies’ Golf Club at St Andrews – and the girls’ to their clubmate Carly McDonald, the men’s to Portlethen’s Ben Murray, the boys’ to Blairgowrie’s Fraser Walters and the senior men’s to Royal Troon’s Robert Jenkins.

Applauding over-50 Lough and this year’s five other winners, Clare Queen, head of performance and pathways at Scottish Golf, said: “Many congratulations to our winners, who showed consistent and excellent form over the course of the season to emerge victorious.

“Robert and Jillian were worthy winners at senior level. Both the senior titles went to the wire which shows just how competitive that category continues to be.”

The performances that earned Lough, ranked 3,270th in the world, her title were finishing second at June’s Scottish senior women’s open at Duff House Royal Golf Club in Aberdeenshire and winning September’s Scottish Senior Women’s Golf Association Championship at Alyth Golf Club in Perth and Kinross.

She also landed both women’s and senior women’s titles at county level at Heiton’s Schloss Roxburghe in May, going on to pick up her first caps for Scotland at September’s European senior ladies’ team championship in Bulgaria and women’s senior home internationals in Ireland’s County Londonderry.

Another top-30 placing went to Hawick Golf Club’s Naomi Forsyth, joint-24th, with 100 points from one event, in the girls’ order of merit, won by Fife’s McDonald for the second year running with 1,455 points from five competitions.
