A seasonal highlight of the city’s winter calendar will return with a host of dazzling new light installations, ready to transform the Botanics again into a breathtaking wonderland.
Artists from across the globe are bringing dazzling new installations.
This year’s line-up is packed with fresh creative brilliance.

Chicago artist Michael Young makes his debut with Night Birds, a dazzling new installation that promises to stop visitors in their tracks.
Closer to home, acclaimed studio NOVAK returns with a spectacular projection show on Inverleith House, lighting it up in a wash of festive colour and movement.
The display blends tradition and innovation, celebrating the joy of decorating our surroundings while honouring the Botanics’ unique natural landscape.

Fan favourites are back, too.
The Christmas Cathedral returns, more dazzling than ever with a brand-new twinkle effect — perfect for that must-have festive photo.
Heart Arch Walk, a glowing tunnel of LED hearts, sets a romantic red glow over the trail.

Laser Lights by Culture Creative will send thousands of coloured beams swirling through atmospheric fog, creating a breathtaking immersive scene.
Every installation is designed with environmental sensitivity and low energy use, ensuring the magic doesn’t come at nature’s expense.
Each installation highlights a different facet of the Garden, celebrating the bond between people and nature.

Visitors will be captivated by the wonder of the landscape, illuminated in extraordinary new ways.
More than 92,000 visitors experienced the trail’s festive magic last year and every ticket supports the Botanics’ vital conservation and research work, helping to protect plant life for generations to come.

Christmas at the Botanics is one of 12 illuminated trails staged across the UK by leading events promoter Raymond Gubbay Limited, a division of Sony Music. Christmas at the Botanics is presented in partnership with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and creative producer Culture Creative.
