Borderers are warned to prepare for flooding tomorrow (Friday, October 23) as Storm Austen reaches the region.

A council spokesperson said: “An area of heavy rain will develop across southern and central Scotland early on Friday associated with Storm Austen.
“Accumulation of 20-40mm are expected widely within the warning area through the warning period, with 60-80mm possible in some locations, bringing flooding and travel disruption in a few places.
“Rain will turn lighter and clear from the west through Friday evening and overnight.”
