The event raised a £1,510.29 for Vetlife, which was matched pound-for-pound by VetPartners – the larger veterinary group that owns Border Vets – taking the total raised to £3,020.58.

The family-friendly event gave local dog lovers the chance to enjoy a fun-filled day with their four-legged friends, while supporting a great cause and celebrating the strong community around Border Vets, which has practices in Galashiels and Selkirk.

The event has grown year on year since it was first launched, with this year’s Dogs Day Out welcoming its highest number of participating local businesses and charities.

The Border Vets team thanked everyone who attended, donated and supported the event, as well as all the local organisations who helped make the day such a success.

Clinical Director Jim Ross said: “We are absolutely thrilled with how our fourth Dogs Day Out went. It really was our biggest and best yet, and seeing so many local businesses, charities, dog owners and their pets come together made the day incredibly special.

“Raising £1,510.29 for Vetlife was fantastic, and knowing that VetPartners has matched our fundraising, means we have been able to raise more than £3,000 for such an important charity.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make Dogs Day Out 2026 such a memorable day. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again!”

Practices team members from VetPartners, a vet-led group with veterinary practices and animal healthcare businesses all over the UK and Europe, selected Vetlife as their chosen charity of 2026.

The charity provides independent, confidential and free support to the veterinary community, helping veterinary professionals and their families through difficult times.
