In pictures: Scotland party like it’s 1999 after beating France in rugby’s Six Nations

He might have spent ten minutes of the game in the sin bin, but Hawick’s Stuart Hogg still managed to lead Scotland to victory against France in rugby’s Six Nations tonight, March 26.

The French had hopes of winning the championship outright but instead they ended up second best at the Stade de France, north of Paris, leaving their visitors to party like it was 1999, that being the last time the Dark Blues had beaten les Bleus in France, and gifting the championship to Wales.

Their 27-23 victory left Gregor Townsend’s side in fourth place in the Six Nations table, level with Ireland on 15 points.

Hogg, 28, was the only Borderer left on the field by the end as fellow ex-Hawick players Rory Sutherland and Darcy Graham went off in the second half.
