I’ve been a digital reporter at the Yorkshire Evening Post since April 2023, covering the issues at the heart of this vibrant northern city.
Since moving to Leeds, I’ve reported on everything from the infected blood scandal to council cuts. I’ve even had the chance to quiz the Prime Minister over investment in the city during a recent visit.
My career began at the University of Kent, where I studied at the Centre for Journalism in 2015. I later stepped into my first reporter role at the Chronicle Series in rural Cheshire, covering court cases, inquests and council meetings in my four-year tenure. From there, shifts at a national newspaper in London gave me an insight into the fast-paced nature of the job – and a chance to break stories to a huge audience.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about the arts and love checking out exciting new exhibitions in the city, as well as theatre. With that in mind, I’m lucky to live in Leeds, which is home to some excellent theatres as well as Opera North and Northern Ballet.
My focus at the Yorkshire Evening Post is on health, a brief that’s allowed me to tell real-life stories about people facing unbelievable hardships, while interacting with the hospital bosses shaping the future of care in the city. I’m passionate about shining a light on the untold stories in general, whether it relates to politics, the thriving cultural scene, or the people that make the city tick.
