The play follows a family as they are caught up in a series of seismic events (including espionage and a full scale riot) at the tail end of The Cold War.

“We told a home-town war story last time out, we wanted to take you somewhere else this time,” said Rob Wilkinson, of Tideline Runners.

“So we thought we’d exploit the the whole Berwick is at war with Russia legend that has been going for years.”

The result is a multi-stranded tale, drawn together in an epic conclusion as the finale delivers one of the most ambitious and nerve-wracking set-pieces ever put upon The Maltings’ stage.
