Preview: Hairy Maclary & Friends comes to Borders
Canine capers and animal adventures abound as this stage adaptation of the much-loved Hairy Maclary children’s books, by celebrated writer Lynley Dodd, makes its way around the UK.
Children and adults will instantly recognise the opening lines of bestselling book, Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy.

Hide AdIt’s a chance to meet favourite characters such as Hercules Morse, asbig as a horse; Bottomley Potts, covered in spots; Schnitzel von Krumm, with the very low tum; and Scarface Claw, the toughest tomcat in town.
This event is also packed with live music, singing and colourful costumes.
Since its premiere in 2010, the Hairy Maclary & Friends stage show has entertained thousands of children in Britain and Australia. Following three weeks of sold-out performances at the Fringe in 2010 and an extensive UK tour in 2011, Hairy Maclary & Friends was invited to play the 2011/2012 Christmas season at Sydney Opera House – and the run was extended due to popular demand.
The production is presented by Scottish company, Nonsense Room Productions.

“We had such a huge success in Australia – and are excited about taking the little dog with the big personality to an even wider audience in 2016.”
Hairy Maclary & Friends take to the stage at Kelso Tait Hall on April 9 and Hawick Town Hall on April 16.
