They have been motivated by the work of artist Donald Urquhart on display in Dunbar Town House Gallery and his installation in the newly refurbished Battery on Dunbar Harbour.

Donald’s art work is inspired by plankton which lives in the North Sea surrounding the harbour. Donald commissioned North Light Arts to develop this theme of plankton with Dunbar Primary School resulting in 148 primary 7s learning about and creating art works as part of the one day workshops with local artists, Anna Davis and Linda Greig. The exhibition can also be seen at the John Muir Campus of the Primary School.
