He is joined by Karen Marshalsay who plays the harp - clarsachs (Scottish harp), bray harp and Paraguayan harp. She specialises in the traditional music of Scotland and Latin America, using a fingernail technique to play the gut and wire-strung clarsachs.

Her playing has developed through the folk world of feisean, festivals, workshops and instruction from such leading players as Bill Taylor and Alison Kinnaird and Bill Morgan and Rito Pedersen. Karen received a Distinction in her LTCL recital in 2010 - the first time this has been awarded to an all Scottish traditional repertoire!

Also joining Cathal will be Kathryn Nicol, a leading fiddle player, teacher and a former winner of the Glenfiddich Fiddle Championships.

An evening with this trio is an evening well spent.

Show starts at 8pm. Tickets £13.50/£8.00 from www.eyemouthhippodrome.org or 01890 750099.
