Another fine evening for fiddle club

A fine array of local players made up the first half when Kelso Accordion and Fiddle Club met on February 22 in Kelso Rugby Club.

Guests for the evening were the Iain Anderson band from Langholm, with Iain on lead accordion, Neil MacMillan on piano and Eric Goodfellow on drums. A fine, tight sound was produced by the trio with immaculate playing by Iain.

The second half saw appearances by Gordon Clark, Robin Waitt and Roger Dobson, all seasoned players guaranteed to give well executed sets.

Iain and the boys produced another selection of well played music before finishing off their set with another cracking set of reels, ending with ‘The Black Bear’, before being persuaded to do an encore.

    A stramash involving all local players finished off the night, sending everyone home happy.

    The club meets again on March 29 when the Clappy Doo Ceilidh Band are guest artistes. All welcome, 7pm start.
