The Allanbank Arts Open Exhibition will showcase about 100 works in a broad range of media, from paintings and drawings to ceramics, printmaking and sculpture.

The popular event, now in its fourth year, gives visitors an excellent opportunity to keep up with local arts trends and to acquire works by both established and up-and-coming younger artists.

“What makes our annual Open Exhibition special is quality and variety,” said exhibition organisers, Liz Hardy and Gill Walton.

Entry to visitors is free, so come and join everyone at Allanbank Courtyard for refreshments, a leisurely wander round the exhibition and a chat with some of the exhibitors, all in the lovely, rural surroundings of the 18th century former coachhouse.

Gill Walton is also Allanbank Arts resident artist and main tutor. Her studio, within the grounds of the Coachhouse, will also be open to visitors over the weekend.

Allanbank Arts’ neighbours, artists Charles Poulsen and Pauline Burbidge, will also be opening their studio at Allanbank Mill Steading over the same period, so that visitors can easily enjoy both exhibitions over the same weekend.
