St Boswells pay heavily for poor performance
Winning the toss, St Boswells opted to bat first, reports Rich Young.
With a strong batting line-up and a lovely sunny day, hopes were high of a big score to defend. What happened was the total opposite.

Hide AdDunfermiline’s Arfat, bowling a great line, ripped through the top order, leaving the home side 3 for 3.
Ex-Dunnikier player Steve Rowley also got involved, picking up the key wicket of Jamie Glover – the only home player to get into double figures – among his three wickets for two runs.
In total, St Boswells scrambled their way to 51 all out, a figure well under par, with only 20.2 overs bowled.
In reply, Dunfermline started cautiously against Elms and Broom’s bowling. When Yousuf was run out for one by Ruthven, hopes were briefly raised.

Hide AdBut Honeyford (17 runs) and Arfat (19 not out) knocked off the majority of runs before Kathryn White had Honeyford caught by Elms. Dunfermline got over the line two down with 16 overs gone.
It was a very poor performance by St Boswells and attention now turns to this Saturday’s home game against Marchmont, which has a 1pm start.
