WATCH: Samantha Kinghorn’s medal ceremony
Borders para-athlete Samantha Kinghorn is awarded the first of two gold medals on day one of the IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea.
The 18-year-old from Gordon, who was making her senior debut in a GB & NI vest, collected this gold after winning the women’s 400m T53 title in the morning.
“It’s great winning a gold medal in front of a home crowd and my family have travelled down from Scotland to see me race,” she said.
