Stirling County 52-12 Selkirk

Selkirk crashed to second consecutive Premiership defeat, with their points coming only as a consolation.

The hosts took the lead in the fourth minute, when centre Nick Grigg sliced through the visitors’ rearguard for a try converted by Jonnie Hope. Moments later, Grigg sparked a flowing backline move that enabled winger Dylan Taikato-Simpson to breeze over for an unconverted score.

The hosts extended their lead on the half-hour mark, when Colin Hutton crashed over from close range. Hope added the extras.

County secured the try bonus point before the end of the half, fly-half Shaun Treweek bagging the first of his three scores following an interception close to his own line. Hope converted to make it 26-0 at the interval.

In the second period, Stirling continued to dominate and tries by Ruaridh Leishman, Treweek and Grigg underlined the gulf. Hope added two conversions.

Selkirk managed consolations scores by Michael Davies and Ewan Macdougall, with Dashton Wellman
adding a conversion.

However, Stirling regained their composure, Treweek completing his hat-trick with a surge from midfield, and Hope added the extras.
