Redcar Bears 39-51 Berwick Bandits

Berwick Bandits secured all four points thanks to a terrific performance from Thomas Jorgensen away to Redcar Bears.

Team manager John Anderson said: “We know Redcar are not having a great season, but the Bears are still a side with so much talent that to win here is still an achievement to be proud of and we rode well so got the result we deserved.”

The Bears took Heat One 5-1 lead, taking full advantage of a Ben Barker engine failure when he was well clear of the pack.

But by Heat Three Thomas Jorgensen and Berwick’s guest man, Richie Worrall, stormed away to level the score 9-9.

Jorgensen and Worrall rode a cracking Heat Seven to take the maximum.

Worrall sstormed the 12th heat to put Berwick eight points ahead.

Barker’s win in the 13th effectively sealed victory.
