Berwick Sailing Club has a long tradition of sailing Enterprise dinghies and members of the local fleet were keen to give the visitors a run for their money.
The wild weather put paid to any racing on Saturday (June 6) but the boats were ready bright and early on Sunday morning to get as many races in as possible.

Hide AdAs the wind still reached 25-30 knots at times, racing was confined to the river and spectators on the riverbank were treated to a great view of the boats as the planed across the river in the strong winds.
Results were: 1. Gerry Goodfellow and Roger Willoughby (Tynemouth SC), 2. Charles Morrish and Caroline Gold (St Mary’s Loch SC), 3. Peter Middlemiss and Emma Coleman (Tynemouth SC), 4. Andrew Ayre and Brendan McDonald (Berwick SC).
Alistair McDonald, commodore of Berwick Sailing Club, said: “We had a great weekend and all our visitors went away happy. We had to modify the races a bit due to the weather, but that’s all in the game!”
