Tradition dictates that the final is held at the home ground of the Border League president.

It is a position currently held by Berwick’s development chairman Chris Budzynski.

“It’s a real feather in our cap, and the first time it’s been held outwith the Borders,” said Budzynski.

However, the decision to hold the final so far away from both clubs on a midweek night has been met with some criticism.

Indeed, the two finalists were only agreed by default, with Jed-Forest and Kelso unable to fulfil their final pool fixtures.
