Borders Athletics announced last month that Langholm chairman Tommy Morrison’s 22-year-old son Scott had tragically passed away following an accident.
The meeting to decide the immediate future of the Langholm event has been put on hold out of respect for the Morrison family’s loss.
A spokesman for Borders Athletics did suggest, however that it was highly unlikely that the event would be going ahead, thus seeing the entire Border Summer Games programme for 2020 cancelled.

The statement read: “Scottish Athletics can confirm that all licensed events due up to June 30 this year have been suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.
“A whole host of athletics events scheduled for the next couple of months have already been cancelled or rescheduled and these can be checked on our Events Section calendar.
“Scottish Athletics will now not sanction any licensed events until July at the earliest.”
