Driver Stephen Kershaw and his passenger Rob Wilson had already raced there in June as a wildcard at the World Championship round.

And with two teams from the World Championship appearing as wildcards this weekend, in the form of former World Champions with five world titles between them, the team knew they would have to be on top form.

Qualifying on Saturday morning was a fast affair with Borders pair going half a second quicker than they had done there in the past. They qualified in 10th place with less than a second to fourth place.

The Saturday afternoon 12 lap race saw Team Kershaw finish in 11th place, with Steve having a tyre and brake problem which slowed their pace.

Sunday’s eight lap race was held in front of a large British Superbike crowd, including several of team’s sponsors, so no pressure to do well. Another solid ride saw them finishing in ninth place which puts them in ninth place in the championship with three rounds left.

The pace of the race was such that the winners the 2009 World Champions, the Birchall brothers, broke the lap record.

Both Stephen and Rob would like to thank their sponsors who turned up to watch and support them over the weekend. The team are now preparing for the trip to the Assen circuit in Holland in a weeks time (September 19, 20, 21).
