Langholm 19-40 Hawick Quins

It was entertaining stuff with a total of nine tries being scored.
Territorially Langholm appeared to have the edge but some slack tackling and lack of pace allowed the visitors to run in tries from their own half.

A missed tackle by the home defence in mid-field allowed centre Sam Bandeen to race away for Quins for a try at the posts which was converted and it was 5-7 with 12 minutes played.
Langholm were awarded a kickable penalty about 30 metres out but with nothing at stake opted for the tap and go, but were held out.
Neil Douglas ran virtually the length of the field for a Quins try and Scott Peffers converted with 35 minutes on the clock.

With 17 minutes of the second half played Scott Anderson increased the Quins lead with a try which Peffers converted. Langholm hit back with a strong attack and prop Steve Jardine powered over to score and Martin Chisholm converted to make it 12-26.
Quins ran in two late tries through Peffers and Matt Young, both of which the scorers converted.
A bout of handling by the home side ended with Masterton, who had switched to centre, going over to score and Chisholm converted.
