FJORDHUS REIVERS III3

Reivers first game back after the winter break was an away game to Waverley Inveresk Trinity (WIT) and with only 11 players available the Borders outfit were prepared for a tough game.

WIT were the quickest out of the blocks and took an early lead but once Reivers settled into their rhythm they were soon rewarded with an excellent goal by Katie McLaren.

Reivers were very comfortable in possession and a break was created down the right hand side with a well found pass to Danielle Walker who found Alex Bell in the D to take the shot and slot the ball into the back of the goal.

WIT launched a few attacks themselves but the Reivers defence held up well and were firmly in control. In yet another Reivers attack Katie McLaren found herself some space in the D and calmly fired past the keeper into the back of the goal.

A slight lapse in concentration however lead to WIT getting two quick goals back, levelling the score at 3-3 going into half time.

The second half was dominated by WIT who tried repeatedly to get through the Reivers defence who managed to stay strong and keep them out. Although Reivers were tiring they didn’t give up and kept the attacks going until the end but neither team were able to find a winner and the result remained a draw.
