ESKVALE2

Kelso seconds kept the pressure on at the top of the East Ladies division One league table when hosting Eskvale at Earlston to get the second half of the season underway.

Both teams looked a bit rusty but Eskvale got a goal back just before half time after their strike was deflected off the Kelso defenders stick to take the score to 2-1 at the break.

Kirsty Logan started the second half off well with a lovely reverse hit goal and Erin King got on the scoresheet soon after to see Kelso stretch their lead to 4-1.

Eskvale refused to stand down and closed the gap a few minutes later but, with the prize in sight, Kelso kept their focus and Logan scored again after a perfect pass from Kirsty Veitch.

Kelso responded well when Eskvale got into their stride for a period with stout defending from Rhona Fleming and goalie Jenny Thumbwood and Murray slotted away her second of the day with a lovely run up the line before driving into the circle to score.

Logan completed her hatrick straight from the restart to finish the game off.
