WATSONIANS U16B1

Playing only their second game as a squad the Reivers Under 16s worked very hard on interlinking play throughout this game to produce some excellent flowing hockey.

It took the Borders girls to the start of the second quarter before they found their feet and started putting together some attacking moves and the first goal came well in to the first half when Molly Morris sent a great cross to Emma Suddon who delivered a composed tap in on the far post.

Shortly after, Jodie Sinclair, who led the team with great determination as captain on the day, seized the opportunity to intercept a wayward pass from the opposition and sent Suddon off for a one on one with the visiting keeper before slotting in her second goal.

The second half saw the team again under pressure and a lack of concentration early on saw the Reivers defence unravel with Watsonians seizing the opportunity to get one back.

After 10 minutes of disarray the girls returned to their composed teamwork and after a few missed chances Hannah McNair was on the end of a great move to score.

This was an excellent performance from all the girls with special mention to Hollie Grieve who had some tremendous clearances in goal.
