Good recovery earns Cameron Tindle Celtic title

Not only did the 17-year-old from Berwick win the Borders 90m Championship at Langholm Games on Friday, but the following day, representing Scotland Under-18s, he won the 100m and 200m at the 40th Anniversary Celtic Games international at Grangemouth.

Tindle recorded a championship best of 21.36 seconds in the 200m and recovered from a poor start – by his own admission – to win the 100m in 10.68.

He said: “It is the best I’ve run the distance outwith the actual start.

“For some reason I didn’t react to the gun, but actually to the others getting off the mark. So I had to make up the ground, but the main part of the race was good and I’m pleased to win for Scotland.”

Elsewhere, at Ambleside Sports on Thursday, TLJT athlete Cameron Clamp’s journey over the border was rewarded with first in the youths’ 400m.
