Both gain and pain in Spain for Peebles golfer Craig Howie after finishing 16th in final
The 26-year-old ended up joint 16th with four other competitors on three under par, earning more than £4,000 in prize money.
The winner at the Balearic island’s T-Golf and Country Club, at 11 under par, was Ondrej Lieser, the first Czech player to top the Road to Mallorca rankings after securing his second title in as many starts at the grand final.

Though proud to have got that far, he was slightly disappointed not to have made it further, however, he said.
“I’m a wee bit disappointed,” he told us. “Obviously, it’s a slightly smaller field so it’s a good chance to get a win, but only the top five players graduate to the tour and there were still a lot of good players there.
“I played OK but I never played amazing so 16th wasn’t bad.”
Next up for Howie is DP World’s Golf in Dubai Championship in the Middle East next week.
After that, he’s expecting a couple of months off while next year’s golfing calendar is finalised.
