Three Borders clubs through to last four of South of Scotland Amateur Cup
Three Border Amateur Football Association A division teams are through to this year’s South of Scotland Amateur Cup semi-finals after racking up last-eight wins on Saturday.
Duns Amateurs were the only ones to make it through via open play, knocking out the Lothian and Edinburgh Amateur Football Association Saturday premier division’s Hunterfield Vale 7-0 at home.

Kelso Thistle and Tweeeddale Rovers both have penalty shootouts to thank for their progress after ending their ties level at 2-2, the former winning by 5-4 on spot-kicks hosting Eyemouth United Amateurs and the latter by 4-3 at home to Hawick Legion.
Saturday’s other quarter-final also went to penalties after ending up tied at 2-2, South Lanarkshire’s Carluke Thistle edging out Lothian Athletic by 4-2 away.
A division table-toppers Duns – current holders of the cup for the fourth time after beating Lanark’s Kirkfield United 3-1 in last April’s final in Hawick – play Carluke away in the last four on Saturday, March 21, and Kelso host Tweeddale Rovers on Saturday, April 11.

Five league matches were also played on Saturday.
Three A division fixtures saw Earlston Rhymers draw 5-5 at home to Greenlaw, Chirnside United beaten 3-1 hosting Langholm Legion and Hawick United given a 4-0 hiding away to Highfields United in Berwick.
A division down, Biggar United got the better of Tweedmouth Amateurs by 6-3 at home and Gala Hotspur won 2-1 hosting Jed Legion.
