The Innerleithen side remain rooted to the bottom of the table without a single point after nine games, having conceded 41 goals and scored only five in reply.

They might be keeping faith and keeping working, but the third element of their motto – keep winning – is eluding them for now, though they’ll remain hopeful that the first two parts of it will deliver that final ingredient before too long.

The Colts’ scorers at Victoria Park on Saturday were Marty Wright on 34 minutes and 61 and Lewis Bonar on 67 and 81.

Wright’s first goal was a header from a second ball, and the 33-year-old’s other contribution to the scoreline came after Stephen O’Neill had a shot cleared off the line and he found himself in the right place at the right time to tuck it away.

Bonar got his first goal, taking the score to 3-0, by turning a defender in the box and slotting the ball home, and the 28-year-old’s second, the last one of the game, was a header from a corner taken by James Grant.
