Their Berwickshire visitors added one goal to their previous tally of three for the season but they’ve let in 49 and remain in bottom spot in their 15-team conference without any points after six games.

Next up in the league for Peebles is a trip to eighth-placed Glenrothes on Saturday, November 28, at 2pm.

The Fife side are level with them on points but have two games in hand.

Before that, though, they host Fife’s Oakley United this Saturday for a Soccer Shop Direct Challenge Cup second round tie at 1.30pm.

Eyemouth have been drawn at home against East Ayrshire’s Muirkirk Juniors in the cup and play them at the same time.

After that, they host Burntisland Shipyard in the league at 2pm on Saturday, November 28.

Their visitors from Fife are in 10th place with seven points after five games.

Peebles manager Mike Wilson said afterwards: “Although the scoreline suggest a comfortable victory, the first-half performance was nowhere near good enough, and we were very fortunate to go in 3-1 ahead.

“After we had a discussion at half-time, though, I was delighted with our second-half showing.”

“I was also delighted to get five subs on, all of whom performed very well.

“Competition for places is a very good headache for myself and my staff to have and it keeps all the players on their toes.

“We go into training this week with a very very tough game against Oakley in the cup on Saturday, but we go into that like we do every game – to win.”
