Football: Vale of Leithen 1-2 Civil Service Strollers
Vale were dumped out of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup quarters finals by Civil Service Strollers at Victoria Park.
Civil took the lead in the first half through Jordan Finnie before David Stuart added a second after the break, when his penalty and rebounds were both saved by Andy McQueen, before the midfielder finally scrambled the ball over the line at the third time of asking.
Jay Stevens’ deflected goal pulled Vale back into it and Alan Flanagan hit the post, but the Borders side could not find an equaliser to force extra time.
