Borders rugby squads across most of the national divisions take a break from league duty this Saturday to try and make an impression in the BT cup competitions.

It’s a return to action for the squads after most had a day off last Saturday because of the Scotland v Australia autumn international.

The BT Cup pitches a number of local teams from the top three national divisions against each other, while the regional leagues offer some attractive fixtures in the BT Borders Shield.

In the BT Cup, there’s an all-Premiership contest between Hawick and Marr at Mansfield Park, while Watsonians host Selkirk and GHA welcome Gala as the Premiership takes on National League Division 1.

Division 1 pacesetters Jed-Forest and Falkirk meet each other in a very appetising encounter at Riverside Park, while Division 2 faces Division 1 as Peebles take on Edinburgh Accies.

From the East Region League 2, Gala YM welcome Hawick Linden in a BT Border Shield derby.

Two more ties feature League 2 clubs against League 1 opposition.

Earlston are at home to Duns, while Langholm play host to Hawick Harlequins.
