Borders go marching on!
The Borders Bowling Association select team have made history by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Bowls Scotland Andrew Hamilton Trophy.
The Borders team knew that Saturday’s match agaoinst West Lothian at Gordon Bowling Club was a ‘winner takes’ all decider to see who would finish as runners-up to East Lothian in the East qualifying league.
The Borders defeated West Lothian 126 -94 with five out of the six the Borders winning.
In the 48 year history of the event the Borders have never qualified for the last eight. They will now play Dumfriesshire at Motherwell on Saturday, July 9, hoping to progress to the semi-finals.
