Now there’s a way to take a trip down memory lane and find out what the first programme or film you ever watched on the streaming site was. Here’s how to do it.

How to see your viewing history

If you’re intrigued by finding out what the very first thing you ever watched on your account was, then you can by doing the following:

Log into Netflix on desktopClick ‘account’ in the dropdown listScroll down to ‘viewing activity’Either manually scroll through all of your list or just hit ‘download all’ to receive the information in spreadsheet form

This will only show the viewing history from that current account, so if you’ve previously been using someone else's Netflix, or have deleted your Netflix in the past, it won’t be able to show you that information.

‘A simpler time’

With many people having had their Netflix account for years, the revelation of the very first thing they watched has proved revealing for some.

Taking to Twitter, lots of people had some thoughts about their first viewing on the streaming platform.

Another tweeted, “H20: Just Add Water… 2014 was a simpler time for me.”

“Pretty Little Liars season 6 & 7, followed by The Sinner, then How To Get Away With Murder season 2 & 3… Wow, kinda says a lot about me,” wrote another.

Another replied, “What a wild New Year’s Eve in 2014,” with a screenshot of the spreadsheet showcasing 15 episodes of Peep Show and nine episodes of The Inbetweeners on 31 December 2014.

One user simply tweeted in response to the hack from Netflix, “I’m too embarrassed to say.”
