The upcoming film will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing in the role. Here’s what you need to know.

What happens in the trailer?

At two-minutes and 34 seconds long, the video begins with Bond in Italy, jumping out of the way of a speeding car at the top of an old viaduct, before jumping off the edge in true stunt man fashion.

Accompanied by the iconic 007 theme music, the trailer shows the spy in several  shootouts and on several different modes of transport such as a car, motorbike, a boat and a technologically improved airplane.

Prior to the full length trailer, the official James Bond Twitter account had shared a 10-second teaser trailer on Wednesday.

This new trailer is the second of its kind, after the first official trailer was launched back in February.

Where was the film shot?

Filming locations include Italy, Jamaica, Norway and London.

However several scenes were also shot just outside London in the Pinewood Studios in Slough.

Who are the new villains?

Fans have also been given a further look at the franchise’s new villain, Safin, played by Oscar-winning actor, Rami Malek, best known for his work in Mr Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Another iconic bond villain, known as Blofeld, is also seen in the trailer, sitting in a prison cell. Blofeld is played by Christoph Waltz in the upcoming film, following in the likes of Donald Pleasence and Charles Gray.

Sitting in a cage, the villain welcomes Bond as he approaches, saying, "James, fate draws us back together and now your enemy is my enemy", hinting that the pair could team up to fight a common cause: Safin.

Later on viewers are told it's hard to "tell the good from the bad" and the "villains from the heroes".

Which actresses make an appearance?

Co-written by Fleabag creator and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for writing complex female characters, there are several female leads in the official 007 instalment.

Last year Waller-Bridge explained that she was directly approached by Craig and brought on board with the project  "to help out" with the script in in order to make Bond more relevant after the #MeToo campaign.

Bond's love interest, Dr Madeleine Swann, played by French actress Lea Seydoux, makes a return and appears in the trailer, in which it is suggested she is in danger from Safin.

We are told by Dr Swann Safin wants “Revenge” before adding, “Me”.

Blofeld’s voice plays out over the action, explaining "When her secret finds its way out, that will be the death of him".

In the closing scene of the last Bond film, Spectre, Bond had quit his role at MI6 and drove off into the sunset with Dr Swann.

Later on in the video, Bond and Swann appear in a brief but suggestive scene.

Another actress to appear in the film is Ana de Armas, who gets heavily involved in the action, somehow shooting and high-kicking all the while dressed in a floor-length evening gown and stiletto heels.

Additionally, Lashana Lynch is cast as Nomi, described as "a disarming young woman", by Bond in the trailer, after it’s revealed she tried to shoot him.

Naomie Harris makes a return as Miss Moneypenny who reassures Nomi that "everyone tries at least once."

Nomi is set to take over Bond's famous 007 agent digits however while Bond will no longer be referred to as 007 after quitting his License to Kill, fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the James Bond franchise will remain intact.

When will the film be released?

The film has experienced multiple delays, due not only to the coronavirus pandemic, but to a last-minute change of director, which resulted in the release date being moved to 12 November 2020.

Danny Boyle left his role as director back in 2018 over "creative differences".

Cary Joji Fukunaga, the director of True Detective has since stepped in to replace him.
