A unique new Covid-secure Halloween event called Festevil is taking place in the UK this October - and it's a dream (or nightmare) come true for horror fans.

With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, many of us will be keen to celebrate spooky season but it's likely that house parties and trick or treating will be out of the question due to coronavirus restrictions.

But a company in North Wales has come up with the ultimate spooky maze - and it's Covid-19 safe because it's a 'drive through' experience.

How does a drive through horror maze work?

Cyclone Events Management will transform the Rock Park festival site in Wrexham into an interactive horror experience.

Visitors to the drive through will experience live action performances inspired by iconic horror films and TV shows, which will include actors dressed as zombies. Special effects will also add to the scary atmosphere.

To keep in line with restrictions and to keep everyone safe, all staff and actors will be wearing masks, and no one will be allowed to leave their cars during the 20 minute journey.

The organisers said, "It's like nothing you've seen in North Wales before. It's nothing like your usual zombie scare maze.

"We've based it on an old laboratory. The back story is that this AI technology that can enter your dreams and manipulate them to prevent nightmares has taken over the lab and become self aware. It's been neglected and is now willing and able to unleash a persons worst fears, phobias and nightmares upon them.

"We've got trained actors, special effects and even animatronics. Monsters will come out at you when you least expect it. It's a fully immersive experience."

Tickets go on sale on Friday 11 September 2020, and the drive through will run on various nights between 16 October and 1 November.
