Heavy rainfall leads to burst banks '“ but levels set to drop

The recent stormy weather conditions which saw heavy rainfall in the Borders over the course of yesterday, last night and early this morning looks set to subside soon, with no weather warnings in place.

However, Storm Angus has not completely passed unnoticed, as police have had to close the underpass at Duck Row, Jedburgh, today, as the Jed Water burst its banks from constant heavy rain all night.

The temperatures will stay seasonably cool, with a high of 4C, dropping to -2C tonight.

The next few days are expected to remain cool, but mostly dry, allowing river levels to fall.
