Peak trains return to normal

Peak-time services on the Borders Railway will return to normal on Monday, August 3, while off-peak trains will run every hour.

ScotRail says that it is unable to fully bring back the service as yet, because physical distancing rules make it impossible to carry out driver training.

The transport provider is also urging people to consider alternative travel options if possible, as it cannot guarantee physical distancing on busy trains.

Customers are asked to continue to follow its five rules for safer travel and take personal responsibility – do not travel if you feel unwell or have a temperature, travel away from peak times if possible, wear a face mask or covering, do not board a train if you think it’s not safe to do so (some seats have to be kept empty) and maintain physical distancing.
