The essential maintenance, costing £90,000, will replace the filter drain system at Coltercleugh, reducing the need for future, more extensive, maintenance in future.

Amey Transport, the firm carrying out the work, says it will follow essential work guidance set out by the Scottish roadworks commissionaires office during the Covid-19 crisis.

This maintenance has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Dumfries & Galloway Council and Scottish Borders Council.
