The Edinburgh-Carlisle road is to be shut in both directions near the village from 8pm until 6am daily until the morning of Saturday, July 18, so resurfacing works can be carried out by maintenance company Amey.

That £365,000 programme of roadworks will be suspended next Saturday and Sunday night, July 11 and 12, however.
