A7 to be closed overnight next month for roadworks between Hawick and Selkirk
An overnight closure of the A7 Edinburgh-Carlisle road is being lined up at Ashkirk next month to allow surface-patching works to be carried out.
It will be shut from 8pm on Friday, April 10, to 6am the day after.
A diversion route via St Boswells will be signed by infrastructure company Amey.
Southbound traffic will be diverted off the A7 at Ladylands in Selkirk onto the A699 for St Boswells then turn right to join the A68 southbound, turn right again at Cleekimin to join the A698 heading for Hawick and rejoin the A7 at the North Bridge roundabout there.
Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion route but in the opposite direction.
The A7 at Ashkirk is estimated to be used by more than 5,000 vehicles a day.
