Student plumber reaches UK finals
Third year Borders College apprentice plumber Algirds Balta has reached the UK finals of the Annual SkillPLUMB competition.
The apprentice, who is employed by Greenheat Renewables in Duns, is pictured, centre, after winning the ‘best copper work’ section at the Scottish competition. He will go on to represent Scotland at SkillBUILD UK competition in Birmingham on November 18.
