Selkirk cannabis farmer jailed for three years

Hang Phan Vo, an illegal Vietnamese immigrant, was jailed for three years at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday after pleading guilty to being involved in the production and supply of the drug in Selkirk.

Plants were being grown in three rooms of the property. Fiscal depute Graeme Jessop said it was “industrial cannabis cultivation” which showed skill and knowledge.

Police discovered cannabis being produced on an industrial scale after complaints about the smell coming from a property in the town’s Curror Street.
