Parents asked to give their views

The proposals include the establishment of a new additional support needs school in Earlston, and the formal discontinuation of the spectrum classes run at Wilton Primary School in Hawick and St Ronan’s Primary School in Innerleithen.

It will be reccommended to councillors that these proposals are implemented.

In advance of the December meeting, interested parties are being invited to consider the consultation report and provide any additional views they may have.

The consultation period is open until 5pm on Wednesday, December 14.

What the new school will be called has yet to be decided.

A non-statutory consultation on the naming of the new provision in Earlston was also held, with stakeholders asked to submit their suggestions. These are currently being considered and more details will be announced in due course.
