ELECTION: Candidates confirmed for Borders seats

The candidates for the Scotish Borders two Westminster constituencies have been finalised.

The Borders region contains all of the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency, and part of the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency.

Until parliament was dissolved on Wednesday November 6, to make way for the December 12 general election, the seats were held by two Conservatives, John Lamont and David Mundell.

Scottish Borders Council has announced that standing in the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency will be: John Lamont (incumbent), Scottish Conservatives; Calum Kerr, SNP; Jenny Marr, Scottish Liberal Democrats; and Ian Davidson, Scottish Labour Party. 

Dumfries and Galloway council has announced that standing in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency will be: David Mundell (incumbent), Scottish Conservatives; Amanda Burgauer, SNP; John Ferry, Scottish Liberal Democrats; and Nick Chisholm, Scottish Labour Party.
