Villagers take celebrations online for first-ever virtual St Boswells week

A host of online events over the space of five weeks is replacing this year’s St Boswells’ village week, usually held in the first week of June.

With coronavirus social distancing restrictions putting paid to any hope of organised events, villagers are usingFacebook instead to enjoy different Easter, fitness, quis, and fancy-dress themed weeks.

Christine Holmes, one of the organisers, said: “We thought we could still get everybody coming together in the community, though not in person. We tried to come up with themes that reflect all the villagers’ age ranges and could be supported safely. Quiz week proved nostalgic and the kids looked forward to the fancy dress. It’s really keeping the village going.”
