TV thief walks free after behaving himself

A 45-year-old man who walked out of a Galashiels store with a television has been admonished after being of good behaviour for six months during a deferred sentence.
Paul Crowe, who gave an address in Selkirk, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at Asda in Currie Road on August 8 last year.
Selkirk Sheriff Court heard that a member of staff had noticed Crowe walking out of the store with the television, valued at £379.
He was confronted in the car park and the police were called.
There was a full recovery of the television set.
