Stable Life supports vulnerable young people by using the horse and its environment as a medium for learning, to build confidence, resilience and encourage self -reflection.

Given the vagaries, of the Scottish weather, the use of an indoor riding school is an essential environment for this work with young people to go ahead effectively and in safety.

The indoor school, which has been on the site at Dryden Farm for more than 60 years, was well used, but badly in need of refurbishment.

Many generous grants, donations and a crowdfunding appeal successfully raised the funding to allow Stable Life to do this and staff would like to thank everyone who has been involved in making this happen.

Mags Powell, chief executive of Stable Life, said: “This has been a project that we started a number of years ago and at times we thought we were never going to achieve due to various setbacks – with the last one being Covid 19 – however, after a few months’ delay the refurbishment is completed and we are over the moon with the results.

"This means that the valuable work we do to support disadvantaged young people and various equine activities to the whole Borders community, can continue within the improved facilities for many years to come.
