Police investigating after woman targeted in late-night Galashiels attack

A 35-year-old woman was assaulted near the town centre just before midnight, but did not need taken to hospital.

Police attended and closed the section of the black path between the Currie Road long-stay car park and nearby Asda supermarket until around 9am on Sunday.

A police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are continuing following a report of an assault on a 35-year-old woman near Currie Road in Galashiels around 11.50pm on Saturday, June 20.

“Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances at this time. The woman did not require hospital treatment.”
