NOSTALGIA: Souters hail smilin’ morn despite rain at 2012 Selkirk Common Riding

Selkirk was a sea of brollies as the rain lashed down on the annual town common riding’s main celebrations this week back in 2012.

However, that woeful weather failed to dampen the spirits of royal burgh standard bearer Gavin Henderson or the hundreds of Souters there to cheer him and his cavalcade on through the town on common riding Friday...the then-26-year-old and his attendants Martin Rogerson, Peter Forrest, Andrew Shaw and Chris Saunders led more than 330 horses round the town boundaries, arriving back to a packed Market Place for the casting of the colours... here’s all out old photos from that year
