Melrose pupils are fundraising heroes

Pupils at St Mary's School have been nominated as finalists for the Poppy Scotland Fundraising Heroes competition for creating large poppies for businesses and families in Melrose over October and November.

Inspired by the school’s head of art, Debbie Wood, classes throughout the school created the large poppies for local businesses and families to purchase and display in their windows.

All funds were in aid of the annual Poppy Scotland appeal and the whole community embraced the project when normal acts of remembrance were not an option.
